The system monitors the build of Curtain Sider semi-trailers through five assembly bays, each of which is equipped with a tablet and wireless barcode scanner.

Automotive Parts Production Monitoring

In 2013 Unipres began monitoring the production assets at the Sunderland site with a trial on six assets. Analysis of trial data highlighted production losses including downtime and target speeds with significant potential for efficiency improvement.

The company site in Burnley, UK has benefited from a major investment program since the merger of the two companies and operates 115 state of the art robot welding/assembly units. As well as a suite of presses ranging up to 2,500 tonne to provide the most capable and efficient pressing service available.

A PlantRun system monitors the machines which are configured as 72 work cells providing machine utilisation reporting and analysis.  The system allows the company to track production efficiency and helps it meet the demanding JIT requirements of the automotive industry.

ISO / TS 16949 and OEE

Over recent years, ISO / TS 16949 has firmly established itself as a global quality standard in the automotive industry. So far dominant automotive standards such as VDA 6.1, EAQF, AVSQ, QS-9000, etc. have been largely replaced.
